Background & Aim: Treatment of mandibular condylar process fractures has always been a controversial topic amongst maxillofacial fraternity. Conservative approach has been the age-old practice. Recent trends seem to indicate a move to these fractures being treated with open procedures. With the development of improved materials for fixation and refinement in surgical techniques the treatment of condylar process fractures has evolved from CRMMF to various forms of semi rigid internal fixation. There is an increased acceptance and reliance on ORIF by both the surgeon and the patient for treatment of Condylar fractures.

Materials and Method: Twenty cases of sub-condylar fractures were treated with ORIF through TMAP. All the patients were evaluated for maximum inter-incisal pain free mouth opening, deviation of the jaw on opening the mouth, occlusal discrepancies, pain, FNF, infection and quality of scar. Vertical ramal height and condylar displacement were assessed radiographically.

Result: Data was analysed by SPSS for windows (version 17) statistical package (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). ORIF of sub condylar fractures led to good restoration of joint function, early relief from pain, earlier return to normal function with stable occlusion, with preservation of facial nerve function.

Conclusion: The intended aim of opting surgical management of condylar process fractures was to restore the pre-existing anatomic relationship of the fractured fragments by stable fixation and an early return to normal function without the need for prolonged period of MMF. Restoration of vertical dimension was one of our goal of surgical treatment of mandibular condylar process fractures, which was statistically significant postoperatively

A survey research approach has been adopted for the present study, and a structured questionnaire has been used for gathering primary data. The study's findings were that 100 % of librarians were aware of policies and frameworks for managing human resources in libraries, and 100% of libraries have policies and frameworks for managing human resources.

AIM: The aim of this study is to evaluate the Association between proclination and traumatic dental injuries in permanent central incisors.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the Association between proclination and traumatic dental injuries in permanent central incisors in patients visiting saveetha dental college.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: It is a single centered study conducted in a private dental institution, Chennai. 50 Primary and Higher Primary Schools Children aged between 7-14 years were included in the study. Garcia Godoy Classification was used for assessing traumatic dental injuries. The datas were collected based on the parameters that includes sex of the patient, age of the patient, type of traumatic injury, presence or absence of proclanation. The datas were collected and entered in excel sheet. After data collection statistical analysis was done in SPSS software. Objective and subjective evaluations were performed. The data was tabulated. The data analysis was performed using SPSS software, the Chi square test was done, P value <0.005 was considered statistically significant.

RESULT AND CONCLUSION: Among 50 children examined prevalence rate was 54% with higher prevalence in boys and 46% girls. Prevalence of traumatic dental injuries was more in the age group of 7-10 years. Majority of 34% showed enamel dentine fracture with pulp exposure, 20% showed enamel dentine fracture without pulp exposure, 14% showed enamel fracture and luxation, 12% showed lateral displacement, 4% showed enamel crack and 2% showed root fracture. P value showed 0.003 (<0.5) which is statistically significant. There is a positive correlation between age and type of traumatic injury.

This comprehensive research explores the intricate relationship between hypertension and nonspecific neck pain among sedentary individuals, aiming to elucidate the association and its implications for clinical practice and public health initiatives. Through meticulous analysis of data collected from a diverse cohort, encompassing demographic variables, health history, lifestyle factors, and outcome measures, this study reveals compelling insights into the multifaceted interplay between these prevalent health conditions. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to unravel the association between hypertension and neck pain intensity. The findings unveil a significant association, with participants diagnosed with hypertension reporting notably higher levels of neck pain intensity compared to those without hypertension. Furthermore, after controlling for covariates such as age, hypertension remained independently associated with neck pain intensity, emphasizing its role as a potential risk factor for heightened neck pain symptoms among sedentary individuals. The investigation also identified positive correlations between neck pain intensity and the duration of hypertension, as well as the duration of neck pain. These findings underscore the progressive nature of these conditions, suggesting that longer disease durations may exacerbate neck pain symptoms. The implications of this research extend beyond theoretical paradigms, permeating into practical applications in healthcare settings and public health policies. By recognizing hypertension as a modifiable risk factor for exacerbating neck pain symptoms, healthcare providers can implement early screening protocols and tailored interventions to alleviate the burden of neck pain among affected individuals. Multidisciplinary approaches, encompassing physical therapy, stress management techniques, and lifestyle modifications, hold promise in ameliorating the impact of neck pain among hypertensive individuals. In conclusion, this research serves as a pivotal milestone in advancing our understanding of the hypertension-neck pain nexus, offering valuable insights and directions for future inquiry. By fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and proactive health management strategies, we can endeavour towards a holistic approach to improving the well-being of individuals affected by hypertension and neck pain.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical significance of cystatin C and renal resistive index for the determination of renal function in patients with liver cirrhosis.

Settings: Hepatology department, Ain Shams University Hospital

Subjects: Male and female patients with Liver cirrhosis

Measurements and main results: We confirmed significant differences in values of cystatin C between patients with different stages of liver cirrhosis according to Child-Pugh and positive correlation was noticed between GFRcr and GFRcys and significant positive correlation was noticed between Cystatin c and RRI and this is support our recommendation of using of serum cystatin c and renal resistive index for evaluation of renal status in liver cirrhotic patients.

Conclusion: Cystatin C can be used as reliable marker for assessment of liver insufficiency. Additionally, cystatin C and renal resistive index represent sensitive indicators of renal dysfunction in patients with liver cirrhosis.

Background: Protecting the quality of life is an important factor in patients with chronic disease because of increasing their survival rate. This study aims to investigate the quality of life (QOL) of Heart Failure patients and specify the most important related factors to it. Materials and Methods: In a cross-sectional study a sample of 80 patients in Kermanshah’s hospitals was selected non-randomly. The QOL was measured by WHOQOL-BREF- WHO questionnaire- and the data were finally analyzed in the light of study objectives with SPSS -16. Results: The average age of the patients was 65.5±14.3 years. Female and male constituted 48.8 (39 patients) and 51.2 (41 patients) percent, respectively. The patients obtained average high score in social relationship domain and low score in physical health domain. There is a significant relationship between habitat place (P=0.05), number of hospitalization) P=0.001) and disease stage (p<0.001) with their quality of life. Conclusion: The Heart Failure patients have an undesirable conditions in domain of physical health. Patients in advanced stage of disease have a lowest level of quality of life and need more cares.

Background: Distal radius fracture is one of the most common fractures in adults, predominantly in white and older populations in high income countries.  Patient usually reports falling on outstretched hand (FOSH). Other mechanisms include: RTA (road traffic accident), direct trauma, and FFH (fall from height). Specific mechanisms imply greater or lesser degrees of injury. After (FOSH) the prominent thenar eminence takes most of the force, and the fracture of the distal end radius occurs, while the TFCC is still intact, unless there is a rotatory element. If radius rotates into supination and if the force continues the ulnar styloid is avulsed There are numerous treatment modalities available to orthopedic surgeons for distal radius fracture; these include closed reduction and casting, closed reduction and percutaneous pinning.

Background: Organophosphorus (OP) pesticide poisoning is a major public health concern across Indian population. Its ingestion is associated with high morbidity and mortality. Early recognition and prompt management is important for saving patient’s life. Organophosphorus poisoning leads to three main syndromes: a) acute cholinergic syndrome b) intermediate syndrome c) OP induced delayed polyneuropathy.

Case Report: A 30-year-old female patient presented in emergency after consumption of organophosphorus pesticide. After proper resuscitation she was given atropine and pralidoxime and intubated and shifted to ICU. She was extubated after complete recovery but showed symptoms of muscle weakness and respiratory distress after two days pointing towards intermediate syndrome, an uncommon subacute complication of organophosphorus poisoning. The symptoms resolved with the use of glycopyrrolate and the patient eventually made a complete recovery.

Conclusion: Intermediate syndrome is characterized by the onset of weakness of neck flexors, proximal limb muscles and respiratory muscles within one to four days after organophosphorus poisoning. Recognition of this syndrome is important as it affects the respiratory system which may require ventilatory support.

The aim of this research is to understand and identify various researches conducted on employee attrition across sectors. The research has highlighted the factors like dissatisfaction with compensation offered , payment below prevailing market rate and inadequacy in the internal and external equity, Inappropriate Reward and recognition, toxic work environment &incompatible work culture, employee attitude, Insufficient support, unsatisfactory relationships with superior, colleagues and subordinates (work relationship), and inadequate opportunities for growth, hiring practices, and managerial style, which affect employee attrition. Understanding attrition is imperative for every organization. Mere recognition of factors would not do any better, both for employees as well as employer. This study focuses on compiling the factors that affect attrition and has a further scope where these factors can be empirically tested in different sectors and recommendations can be incorporated so as to observe the difference in the attrition rate.
