Data Sharing Policy

Dialogues in Cardiovascular Medicine supports the principles of transparency, reproducibility, and open science. In accordance with the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal encourages authors to make the data underlying their published research available whenever ethically, legally, and practically possible.

Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets, protocols, statistical analysis plans, software code, and other supporting research materials in recognized public or institutional repositories prior to or at the time of publication. Data should be sufficiently documented to enable verification, replication, and reuse of the published findings.

Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript indicating:

  • Where the supporting data can be accessed.
  • The name of the repository and any persistent identifier (e.g., DOI or accession number), where applicable.
  • Whether data are available upon reasonable request from the corresponding author.
  • If data cannot be shared, the reason for the restriction (e.g., patient privacy, ethical, legal, or contractual limitations).

For clinical research and studies involving human participants, authors must ensure that all shared data are appropriately de-identified and comply with applicable ethical standards, institutional policies, and data protection regulations.

The Editorial Office may request access to the underlying data during the peer-review or post-publication process to verify the integrity and validity of the reported findings. Authors are expected to cooperate with such requests whenever appropriate.

The journal strongly encourages responsible data sharing to enhance research transparency, facilitate scientific collaboration, and promote the reproducibility of published research.
